SMS terms and consent
Last updated – August 2026
Telphi is a call-handling service that answers phone calls for local businesses. During a call, it can send the caller a text message on the business’s behalf. This page explains how we ask for permission, what we send, how often, and how to stop receiving messages.
How we ask for consent
Consent is given verbally, on the call. When a caller wants to book, the Telphi receptionist asks before anything is sent:
What the receptionist asks on the call
“I can text you the booking link. Is it OK to send a text to the number you’re calling from?”
A message is only sent if the caller agrees, and only to the number they are calling from. If the caller declines, nothing is sent. The caller’s agreement is recorded alongside the call recording and transcript, so there is a record of every opt-in.
What we send
Messages are transactional and relate directly to the call: a booking link so the caller can pick a time that suits them, or a payment link for the work discussed. We do not send marketing or promotional messages. A typical message looks like this:
Example message
How often we send messages
One message per call. The only exception is when the caller asks for the link to be sent again. There are no recurring messages and no message series to subscribe to.
Cost
Telphi does not charge callers for messages. Message and data rates may apply, depending on the caller’s mobile plan and carrier.
Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP to any message and you will not receive further texts from that number. Reply HELP to any message, or email support@telphi.app, for help with messaging.
Your number and your data
We do not share mobile numbers, opt-in records, or any SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. How we handle personal data more broadly is set out in our privacy policy.
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
